Gen Ed SSRU Participates in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Workshop
On Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Room 26109, Faculty of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Mathusorn Khaengkhan, Director of the Office of General Education, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Jarumon Nookhong, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sitthichai Phinthuma, Deputy Director for Administration, and Ms. Namthip Kleebbuaban, Head of Office, organized a practical workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Assistant Professor Dr. Natthaphat Kaewrattanaphat, Vice President for Academic Affairs, joined the session to welcome the guest speaker, Associate Professor Dr. Sutithep Siriphipattanakul, Head of the Department of Educational Technology, Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University.
Dr. Sutithep presented on “The Concept of OBE and Stakeholder Needs Analysis for Defining Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs),” aimed at enhancing understanding of student-centered learning management and the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). This workshop focused on cultivating knowledge of educational management centered on learner outcomes, a core component in improving educational quality to effectively support students in achieving course goals. Participants learned methods for analyzing stakeholder needs to develop PLOs and align teaching processes with international standards sustainably. This session supports lifelong learning opportunities, allowing students and interested participants to advance in their educational pursuits in the future. This learning exchange supports and promotes the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 4: Quality Education, focusing on an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach that emphasizes Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs). This aligns with SDG 4.7, which aims to provide quality education by developing learning skills and preparing students to effectively achieve their educational goals. It also supports lifelong learning opportunities.
