Gen Ed SSRU Advances Quality Education Organizes CEFR-Based English Language Training for Local Teachers

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Office of General Education and Electronic Learning Innovation at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University continued its mission to elevate the quality of education by organizing a practical training workshop titled “Developing English Language Skills Based on the CEFR Framework (Levels A1–A2)”. The training was conducted for educational personnel from Wat Makluea School (Kanchanalakwittaya) in Nakhon Pathom Province, with the aim of enhancing foundational English language competencies among local teachers to support effective instruction aligned with international standards. The session was held on-site at Wat Makluea School from 08:30 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)—particularly levels A1–A2—is crucial for basic-level educators. It focuses on practical language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for everyday communication. These competencies form the essential foundation for advancing English instruction in classrooms. Additionally, the training empowers teachers to design and evaluate learning activities suitable for their local contexts and fosters an open, engaging learning environment that supports students’ skill development in accordance with both national and international education standards.

The training project was carried out under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Dr. Jarumon Nukong, Acting Deputy Director for Electronic Learning Innovation, who assigned Ms. Phattiya Traitheepueng, Head of the Division of Electronic Learning Innovation, along with her team, to oversee the planning and implementation of the event.

The workshop was enriched by the contributions of two esteemed guest speakers:
Dr. Mongkolchai Thiansudeenont and Asst. Prof. Kitti Chalermchatvorakorn, lecturers from the Department of English and International Communication, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep. They shared valuable insights, teaching strategies, and effective techniques for building English proficiency at the foundational level.

This initiative reflects Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University’s commitment to providing essential skill development for teachers and youth, particularly in underserved areas. It aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, which promotes inclusive, equitable, and lifelong learning opportunities for all. Through this project, the university is helping to strengthen core teaching capabilities, bridge educational gaps, and contribute to a sustainable transformation of local education systems.
